I'm participating in Leadership Boot Camp which is an online class, of sorts, run by a veteran demonstrator. The general gist of the purpose of the course is to learn how to be a better upline to my Stampin' Up! downline. Part of our homework in this first week was to create 3 cards using Designer Series Paper. One you have already seen in a prior post – my Thanksgiving card using Season of Friendship. The other two were inspired by two cards swapped at the most recent Founder's Circle retreat that I attended in Utah in September. Below, I'm going to share the card I used to inspire me and then my interpretation of it.
The first card is by a fellow demonstrator named Lynn Wegleitner. She used Big on Christmas and I tweaked it to create a card using Holiday Trinkets.
In the next card, I took inspiration from demonstrator Marlayne Hardy's Christmas Classics card to create my Mr. Twigster card (sentiment is from the Country Living Holiday Collection set on sale now for a limited time).
The moral of the story is that pretty much any card you see can be reworked for just about any set. It makes the possibilities endless with just a very few templates. Don't stress yourself out thinking every card has to be unique. Get into a groove with a few templates you like and can do in your sleep then branch out from there!
Very cute cards! I don’t have a creative bone in my body, but I sure can copy well! Your right about changing it up to fit your taste or needs too. While I can’t “think up” cards, once I see something I like I am able to “adapt” it to my situation. Thanks for all your very helpful tips. We appreicate them.
