Michael's 5th grade class is having a bake sale and all the proceeds are being donated to our city's largest center for the homeless. I heard it was recently featured on Oprah. We were to each bring in 2-dozen cookies, on the large side, and individually wrapped. I referred to my Pillsbury Bake-Off cookbook and chose the 2000 winner "Funfetti Cookies". The easiest cookie in the world to make (Funfetti cake mix, eggs and oil – that's it!) and plenty colorful to attract buyers tomorrow. And a wee bit too sweet for me but I'm sure the kids will love it.
Some have pink frosting like they showed in the cookbook and others I made white (in case some little boy was repulsed by the idea of a pink cookie, LOL!). They are being sold for $1 each. I made 36 or so rather than 24. Naturally, I couldn't send them in some ugly box or something so I used some bins I use for workshops and labeled them. It's all in the marketing, isn't it? I just want all of them to sell as this is such a good cause. So, no stamping today – just baking. And, yes, I kept 4 "rejects" for the family to try. Otherwise there might be a mutiny in the household tonight!
