Ok, well, my bear is not exactly in my daughter's image as she is not tan and furry but you get the idea…. Tuesday, September 1 (via the Holiday Mini Catalog) marks the official release of some exclusive & exciting new products Stampin' Up! is offering in partnership with both Sizzix (who makes the dies) and Build-A-Bear Workshop. Part of the new collection includes dies to make the bear and accessories as well as stamp sets. Also, coincidentally in the Holiday Mini Catalog, is new Specialty Designer Series Paper called Night & Day. It caught my eye as it has a black/white houndstooth print and that's the print that is associated with my daughter's university's football team. So….. I got the dies and the paper and made a "Bama Bear" that I will be framing as a decor for her dorm room (I'll photograph that when it's finished).
The fabric, as I mentioned, is houndstooth (skirt, bow & heart), the school's color is crimson (sweater) and my daughter has a hot pink designer handbag so I used that color for the bear's handbag. My daughter stopped wearing bows about 12 years ago but it was too cute to not put on (my apologies to my daughter). My daughter is also very fashion conscious so I had to make sure all the accessories coordinated (wink, wink). And her eyes are blue so the bear got blue eyes. In any event, I am pleased to introduce "Bama Bear"!
