"Make-It Monday": Gentle Peace & Hardwood card

Gentle peace

Supplies:

  • Card Stock – Early Espresso 8 ½” x 11” (119686), Soft Suede 8 ½” x 11” (115318), Naturals Ivory (101849
  • Stamp Pads- Crumb Cake (126975), Early Espresso (126974)
  • Misc. – Stamping Sponges (101610), Paper Snips (103579),1 ¼” Burlap Ribbon (132140), Gift Card Envelope Trims Thinlits Dies (135854), SNAIL adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Glue Dots (103683), Medium Crumb Cake Envelopes (107297)     

Measurements:   

  • Early Espresso card base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
  • Soft Suede: 4" x 5 1/4" – need two
  • Naturals Ivory: 3 3/4" x 5" – need two
  • Naturals Ivory scrap at least 1" x 4" – need one
  • Threads pulled from an 8" long piece of 1 1/4" Burlap ribbon – need three

 

Instructions:

  1. Ink Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink by patting the inkpad directly on the stamp. Lay the stamp rubber-side-up on your stamping surface. Lay a Soft Suede layer on the inked stamp. Hold in place with one hand while gently pressing the cardstock onto the stamp. Be careful not to move the cardstock while pressing or you will have a blurred image. Adhere Soft Suede layer onto front of Early Espresso card base with SNAIL. Adhere remaining Soft Suede layer inside card with SNAIL
  2. Stamp Holy Family image from Gentle Peace onto Naturals Ivory card stock with Early Espresso ink. Cut out around stained-glass window edges with Paper Snips. Sponge edges lightly with Crumb Cake ink. Adhere to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals with top of window just slightly over the top edge of the Crumb Cake layer.
  3. Loop and tie three strands of burlap ribbon threads together into a knot. Gently pull the loops apart. Adhere to lower left edge of window image with a glue dot.
  4. Stamp "for unto us a child is born . ." from Gentle Peace onto Naturals Ivory scrap with Early Espresso ink. Cut out with the long banner die from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets. Sponge edges with Crumb Cake ink. Adhere below the window and over the looped burlap threads with Stampin' Dimensionals,
  5. Stamp "glory to the newborn king" from The Newborn King on remaining Naturals Ivory layer with Early Espresso ink. Stamp left edge layer with nativity image from The Newborn King using Crumb Cake ink. Sponge edges of layer with Crumb Cake ink. Adhere inside card over Soft Suede layer with SNAIL.
  6. Stamp your envelope to coordinate with your card and you are done!
