Blog Hop Stampers Dozen

This month we are featuring the two-step stamping technique which is most often based on the nature of the stamp set itself. In my sample, below, I actually had to 3-step the bear but that's how he is designed. In our Stampin' Up! catalog, sets that have this feature are marked as such. No mystery!

Here this precious new Baby Bear was stamped with three different neutrals to create depth. I also tried to focus on the new. I used a new color, new ribbon, new stamp set, new Designer Series Paper, new embossing folder, new die, and a new embellishment. All the ingredients are listed at the very bottom of this post.

How did I make the lace collar? Simply used some vanilla sewing thread to gather from the top of the lace (there are holes there that made it perfectly even – sort of looks how my grommet topped curtains are in my home). I had a knot when I started gathering then a knot at the end. I used heavy duty thread so it's a little beefier than usual thread and the knots are then bigger.

I have to confess that I may be a little in love with this bear. The face is so compelling, don't ya think?
