Michael's elementary school is having its first Science Fair tomorrow. 7th grade is partnering with that to have a Bake Sale to benefit their class trip to the San Francisco bay area next month. Yup, I signed up and have been baking ALL morning. Kirsten and I had a Skype appointment and I was measuring ingredients with the laptop on the kitchen counter while talking to her in Italy. Multi-tasking is my middle name 😉
Ever hear of that urban legend cookie recipe called "Mrs. Field's $250 Recipe"? Well I've had it for years and it's a great cookie recipe if you don't mind giving up half of a day to bake. It makes a GOB of cookies. I think I ended up with 9 dozen. With each batch taking 10 minutes to bake, plus prep time… it is a long time in the kitchen. But it's OH SO WORTH IT! I use a cookie scooper that looks like an ice cream scoop but is a little smaller. And a special shout-out to my beloved Kitchen-Aid stand mixer who was my trusty partner this morning. Gosh how I love that mixer!
