Stampin' Up! recently released the Spiral Flower Originals Die that creates these quick, easy and gorgeous roses using card stock or any paper really. I was filling a Valentine care package for my college freshman and I got this idea to blend my desire to use the roses for something other than a card while also making my daughter a gift for her first Valentine's Day far away from home.
Went to Michael's and bought a 3-pack of these 4"x 4" burlap squares. They're hard, as though they're covering a hard canvas board that you'd paint on. My idea was to create a little piece of decor where she could swap out photos easily. So to create something to clip a clothepin on, I simply hot glued a strip of our Burlap Ribbon horizontally across the top front. The photos really speak for themselves as this was super easy to put together.
I glued a piece of ribbon so she could hang it on something. I made the roses uses our Real Red card stock then I ran it through our Big Shot and the Decorative Dots embossing folder you can get free with a purchase right now. After I made the roses, I quickly spritzed them with some shimmer (all ingredients listed by exact name below the photos). Hot glue was my friend as that's how I adhered the roses to the burlap square. Is this easy, or what?
Shhh…. don't tell my daughter that this is in the mail.
